El dia de hoy ha pasado uno de los tragos mas amargos en mi vida, tras haber recibido una de las noticias mas fabulosas que una persona puede recibir como lo es el llegar a convertirse en padre, despues de quince dias esa ilusion se vio truncada por causas ajenas a nuestra voluntad.
El dia primero de este mes, despues de un viaje planeado por Europa con el firme proposito de escribirle a la cigueña, y haber confirmado con un analisis sanguineo que en efecto mi mujer y yo estabamos embarazados, habiamos hecho ya algunos planes para “los cuates” (siempre pensamos que serian dos) cuando entre el dia de ayer sabado y hoy domingo tras varias visitas al medico nos dabamos cuenta que la ilusion asi como nuestro embarazo se terminaban prematuramente por causas que no es necesario comprender, sino aceptar; son sentimientos encontrados, tras el dolor de los hechos fuimos invadidos por una alegria muy especial al darnos cuenta de tanta gente que nos aprecia en realidad, de las muestras de apoyo y cariño de familiares y amigos.
Este es para mi uno de esos momentos en la vida en los cuales hay un reacomodo violento de la cadena de valores, momentos en los cuales la crisis economica mundial es tan insignificante y que hay tantas cosas de que “ocuparse” tan cerca que como dijo “la vecina” algo entre las lineas de:
Para hacer una caridad a alguien no hay que ir hasta el lugar mas pobre o mas necesitado del mundo, solo falta mirar a tu alrededor.
El dia de hoy, mi mujer y yo estamos mas unidos que nunca, estamos cruzando este camino dificil tomados de la mano , con tanto amor y como alguien nos dijo (incluyendo mi madre) es que Dios estaba necesitado de angelitos y quiso tomar los nuestros.

I just headed up to the Canon EOS site, to get some updates for their software and noticed that they just released a new camera on the ‘Rebel’ family called XSi:

Piclens is a really cool plugin for web browsers allowing to see pictures on the enabled sites as you have never seen before; they have released a wordpress plugin, but it only works with version up to 2.3.2, so doing some googling, I found this excellent modified plugin that works with wordpress 2.5, then now this site is Piclens enabled, the only thing you need to do to enjoy it is, install the browser plugin, come to this site or your favorite photo sharing site (the most popular are already supported) and click on the small blue “play” button showed once you put the mouse pointer over the images. enjoy it!

Adobe released today a service called photoshop express, and looks as a nice service to upload your pictures, it really has not much as photoshop besides the name, I saw the news from Scott Kelby blog, but as the comments on Scott blog and also pointed in multiple sites, their terms of service there’s something that looks a little bit scary:
8. Use of Your Content.
- Adobe does not claim ownership of Your Content. However, with respect to Your Content that you submit or make available for inclusion on publicly accessible areas of the Services, you grant Adobe a worldwide, royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, and fully sublicensable license to use, distribute, derive revenue or other remuneration from, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, publicly perform and publicly display such Content (in whole or in part) and to incorporate such Content into other Materials or works in any format or medium now known or later developed.
I don’t mean my pictures are worth it, but at least that will stop lot of photographers use the service. I hope adobe can review their terms of service to start uploading content to my account.

Trying to make a connection to a MS SQL Server 2005 database from PHP, I always got an error message using the mssql_connect saying:
Warning: mssql_connect() [function.mssql-connect]: Unable to connect to server: {servername}.
I tried several solutions like, updating the ntwdblib.dll (on windows; I had the same error on linux) library, configuring the tcp/ip properties on sqlexpress but nothing I still having the same error.
At the end I changed the ip address on the server name by the respective server name and finally worked!.
So instead of:
$server = 192.168.50.1;
$user = 'sa';
$password = 'sapassword';
$conn = mssql_connect($server, $user, $password);
Changed for:
$server = cmanonserver;

Thanks to Brad and Sonny, visited the Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee and was a very interesting and pleasant visit for the most popular whisky in the planet, I enjoyed it a lot.
In this place completely all Jack Daniel’s whisky is distilled and delivered all around the globe. Check some of the pictures at my Flickr gallery.
